David Hargreaves

Born in Detroit, now living on the Oregon coast, David Hargreaves’ translation of The Blossoms of Sixty-Four Sunsets, a collection of poems by Nepal Bhasa poet Durga Lal Shrestha, was published (2014) in Kathmandu, Nepal, in a dual-language format.

His own writing appears in a variety of journals, including Comstock Review, Naugatuck River Review, North Dakota Quarterly, and elsewhere. His first book, Running Out of Words for Afterwards (Broadstone Books), appeared in Fall 2021.

A leading scholar on the Nepal Bhasa language, David Hargreaves has published and presented widely in linguistics journals and international conferences. He is an emeritus professor of Linguistics at Western Oregon University.
